Texas has always been in my blood.

Although I grew up in Calcasieu Parish, a few miles east of the Sabine River, my mother was from Sour Lake, near Beaumont.

After attending Centenary College in Shreveport, I met George Despot, who headed the fledgling Republican Party of Louisiana. Fewer than 5% of Louisiana voters were Republicans.  While still in my 20's, I led the Republican Party of Caddo Parish, then the second largest in the state.  Republicans now dominate Louisiana politics, and I am been proud of my part in the foundational work.

Soon Texas called. I moved to Dallas to work with college friends, Ted Case and Bill Dunlap, for a number of years before returning to Shreveport to start my own business. During that time, my children, Katie Jo and Brian were born there. They are my greatest accomplishment.

In 1990 I returned to Dallas to work with some friends and I settled in Richardson. In 2004, I received an opportunity to start a new venture called AfterMark LLC and I still work there to this day.

I have never been a politician.  Despite my early experience, I did not engage in Texas politics until 2018, when I decided to run for office.  I ran against Linda Koop because she had become close to the corrupt House Speaker, Joe Straus, serving his interests on the powerful Calendars Committee.  I lost in my first attempt, and I stepped away from politics again.

However, our nation is now in crisis and I'm confident I can help. Texas has the ability to lead America back to health, and I believe I am now uniquely qualified to help lead the charge.

My primary qualifications?

1) I tell the Truth, and

2) I truly desire to serve You ... the People.

My opponent, Angie Chen Button, has chosen to be a political insider serving big donors and powerful interests.  Her vote to impeach Ken Paxton sealed my decision. Our future depends upon ordinary Texans regaining their voice.

Together, you and I can save Texas.
